just an idea. the name "nitro" suggests nitroglycerine (which would do the job), a "heavy, colorless, oily, explosive liquid" according to wikipedia. My idea is this. when you have a bomb on you if you collect any nitro it speeds up the bomb and potentially makes the explosion larger to contain other karts.

Nice idea... and I'd like the explosion too. The stars and the jump aren't quite enough.

I thought "nitro" was short for nitrous oxide (N2O).
Usually the power of an engine is limited by the amount of air (oxygen) can be compressed into the cylinders. When you mix N2O it into the air intake of your engine, suddenly it contains a lot more oxygen and the fuel burns a lot faster, therefore you get more power out of your engine.

Downside of N2O is that when you put too much nitro in your engine your engine will explode.

Another possible out come huh?

It could be that when you have full nitro the bomb will explode faster and with more force (so more karts around you will be affected).

Sorry, there seems to be little use in making yourself explode? When you have a bomb, nitro is much more useful spend speeding up to catch up another kart and pass on the bomb

I'm not suggesting collecting nitro to make the bomb explode faster, but making the nitro that you already have make the bomb explode faster.
