BUGS: Hovering Pillars And Ghostly Roof

I've found two major bugs in the Subsea track. Both have been there since 0.7.3.

1. The pillars in the pirate's cave are hovering. You can also see that they have hollow insides. Remember: Blender is polygon mesh modeller.

2. When you die you go through the roof... literally. This is because you sort of come a ghost I think BUT some of the time bouncing balls will do it to. Then they will land on the top of the tube and bounce off. In other words they go out but not back in. When it's bouncing up above it's no use to anyone.
Keep your mouth closed while chewing your food! That's ALL I hear.

For the pillars it's normal. It's not a bug, it's a feature (:P). In our dream, when the player will hit the pillars, they will collapse. But for the moment the physics doesn't support this feature.

Remember: Blender is polygon mesh modeller.

No it has a polygon mesh modeller but also many other features ;).

the time bouncing balls will do it to.

I have already saw this bug. Maybe we need to enlarge the tube.

Like the idea. But could you at least put a bottom on them? They look rather ugly.

Just it's made mostly of polygons. There are no solid (non hollow) objects.

I can have a look again at the code. In most circumstances we should have avoided the problem, but it can easily happen e.g. if the ball is shot outside, or if there is a hole in the track.

Just an idea: you could add a touch animation feature. When a kart touches an object the object does what ever it's animation is. For collapsing pillars you could animate them.
