Idea for boss race cutscene

Idea for boss race cutscene

So I got to the boss race and won it, but I thought there should be an intro cutscene. See the picture. When you accept the challenge, the camera would zoom out some and show Tux in his kart on the edge of the lava lake. A bridge would slowly rise out of the lava, then tux would drive across to nolok's castle. The portcullis would raise and Tux would drive into a room. Nolok would be in the room standing next to his kart. He would say something like, "So! You have completed all my challenges and think you are ready to take me on! Now we will race!". Big wooden doors on the other side of the room would swing open, revealing the Fort Magma track. Then the race would start. (You would still be the kart that you accepted the challenge with.) What do you think?

I think something like that is the ultimate goal; the reason for the current situation is mainly lack of time (or people).
Hey pal, I took an oath for justice! "In happy days or tightest tights..." or something like that.

It's a good idea but we have no time :P. It's very frustrating I know. Maybe for the future 0.9.

Can you create a ticket ? It's easiest for us to remember.

I might take a try at this for fun. Just make a .blend and give it for people to play around with. Also I'm trying to teach myself more about Blender.

How should I make the ticket? The versions only go to the latest SVN build. And what should I classify it as?

Okay, this is what I've got so far.

I plan to add a bit in Nolok's Castle (a copy of Fort Magma) which is below in the scene.

Please note: At the moment this won't work in the game. Someone else would have to fix some bugs and export properly.

This must be put in the "Tracks" folder.

startbosscutscene1v1.zip
Here we are. The current version of the boss race start cutscene! V1
(13.91 MiB) Downloaded 219 times

Notes:
10 seconds (so far)
60 fps
.blend format (non exported)
Contains Tux, Fort Magma models, Overworld models and some of my own

DONE! Unless you want some more stuff or have edits you want me to make.

This includes Tux racing around Fort Magma a bit as well as the Overworld start... all in one .blend! So download and give me feedback. If it is to be exported someone else will have to do it as my exporter is having trouble. But if you have Blender here are the files:

In the tracks directory. But it won't work from the game because:

1. My exporter isn't working too well. Someone else will need to export it.

2. Someone will need to program it in.

For now you will need to view it in Blender.

Hi I have here a version of the cutscene that SHOULD work in STK. It will need to be programmed in though.

To the STK team. Could you look at this please and decide if it may go into the game.

startbosscutscene1v2(shouldworkinstk).zip
This version should work in STK.

Sorry Hero, we can't use that, this will probably be not be implemented using a blender animation. Besides you included large parts of Fort magma we don't need, and deleted many overworld parts we will still need.

The overworld is very tricky, I think you should leave it to us. If you want blender practice, I suggest starting with making an add-on track or kart
