Nolok look

Nolok look

Hello, I was looking at this video posted on the Mailing List : http://youtu.be/iNnF6CFuPRI

And I was wondering if that was the final look for nolok. He's pretty small and not that frightening…
I can't help but compare to the mario/bowser situation, where bowser is somewhat like twice bigger than mario, and full of spikes and fire.
I'm not saying we should copy bowser look and feel, but nolok should at least be bigger than Tux and not smaller.
Also, he should look a little more like a dragoon than a lizard.

Some key point that might make him look meaner:
- Eyes : he has great nice eyes, he should have a evil look and he should frown
- Ears : maybe his ears should be more discreet and he could have some horns next to them
- Hands and arms : he should have more muscle, and maybe his claws could be more visible.
- Tail : maybe a longer tail that we can see agitating, with some spike at the end might be good?

[EDIT]
I found this : http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Nolok
This is what we should be aiming for : http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Imag ... tches3.jpg (rather than http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Image:Nolok_jump.png )
So, what I would keep from the first image :
- Nolok face is green and he have a grey helmet with horns on it.
- He have spiky things on its shoulders
- He have some spiky necklace -> maybe that is not such a good idea?
- He has a mean look
- He has some armor part on him (maybe not the exact same from the picture, but some part would be nice)
- Big foot claws, small hand fingers. (not mickey big finger hand)

Oh, I forgot, teeth : He have those hippopotamus harmless teeth while he should have a shitload of them in order to frighten.

Hi,

well these may not be bad ideas, but we are developers and not modelers ;) the current nolok model is quite well done so we would need an equally talented character modeller to apply similar changes to him

Somewhat off-topic thought, but would it make more sense for those houses to be tree stumps/igloos/something else rather than mushrooms, which look like a mario rip-off.

I'd also support making the models in those scenes twice the size (both nolock and his ship), especially as it should be very easy to do
