Hello and two questions/requests

Hi everyone,
First of all thank you for this truly awesome game that has kept me playing it for over a year now, enjoying each new version that has been released.
I have two requests which hopefully someone can answer.
The first question; I would like to know if the developers can build in an option to turn off 3-in-a-row balloons powerup. The reason I ask this is because this powerup has really spoiled a lot of fun for me playing this game. In some games (I always like to play with 19 AI cars) you get 6 balloons in a row and this really slows down the game and the fun I think. An option to enable/disable powerups would allow people to choose their own powerups. I know a lot of this could be configured in Linux settings files, but I don't know how to do it in the Windows version.
The second question: I was really dumbfounded to find that the old Snow Peak track has been discontinued. The new version is great, but I miss playing the old one a lot. I can only play it now by installing an older version of the game. Can someone make this as an addon or can it be downloaded somewhere?
As an aside, I have found a lot shortcuts that I wonder if other people know about. In the Mexican track one of them was blocked by a huge crate but steering well one can still jump over it. And about a 100 yards before that turn you can launch yourself onto the canyon and cut off a large chunk of road that way and jump off the canyon 60 feet down. I've found some other one's too in other tracks like the Ranch track where you can cut off almost a quarter of the track without being penalized. I wonder if other people have found these and perhaps others that I don't know about too.
Hope to hear from you.
Keep up the great work you guys are doing!
Tuxfan!

do you mean the plunger or the parachute weapon? you can disable them by playing in time trial mode.

Parachute sorry. But in Time Trial I don't have the other powerups. I guess I just don't see the fun in slowing an opponent down three times in a row. It takes out the fun of racing if you ask me.

I know my way around XML, so thanks, I will give that a try!
Now hopefully someone can bring back the old Snow Peak track.

Sorry for the late reply.
I think it was 0.7.0.
I have been able to fix the parachute issue by the way. I found the XML files in the folder you mentioned, the same or pretty much the same as on Linux.

A youtuber has been demonstrating a lot of shortcuts lately, here's a particularly nice one:

however notice he's using an old stk version, I think quite a few of those are no more possible

I did not know those, but then again they take out the fun of the game cutting short 3/4 of the tracks. The one in the Farm track is fun to use and when hitting several nitros at once can really launch you some 150 feet / 50 meters above ground and land right before the finish line.
I think it's a bit childish to obstruct these places with objects because shortcuts are fun. However the cheating in the YT videos yes that is a sure bug that needs fixing, or already has.

some of those cheats take longer than it takes me to race the track normally :P

People who are looking for ways to cheat will always find them. However, we're trying to eliminate the most obvious ones, and then it's up to others whether they will ruin the fun by finding cheats or try to win legitimately by adhering to the natural boundaries set in the game.
This will all get a little more complicated once we have WAN support, however...

maybe then give certain people the ability to kick people who are cheating out of the race? sort of like in online FPS games?

sure, in any online game you need the ability to choose with who you play

Tuxfan1 {l Wrote}:I think it was 0.7.0.
then you should just be able to move that version of the track into your .7.3 tracks folder and remove the current(.7.3) version.
