Hi....

I'm not sure if it would violate any copyrights but I was wondering if the developers of STK could include (as weapons) an oil slick and/or smoke screen similar to what was used in the old arcade game Spy Hunter in an upcoming release.

Karts would slide around and/or off the track with the oil slick. I'm not sure how the smoke screen would be coded to look, though.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

the oil slick kind of sounds like bubble gum.....
smoke screen sounds like plunger in the face.....

Smoke screens are easy when you use particle emitters (much like the zipper and nitro boost effects are made currently). Only (big!) problem is that you can switch particle emitters off by lowering the graphical settings in the options section. And an invisible smokescreen isn't really fun, now is it?

AFAIK, bubblegum was introduced after oil was rejected; and maybe smoke could replace theplunger... IMNSHO- a semi-transparent smokescreen would look better, and be more fun than completely blocking most of the players view.

The joys of using a plunger forwards more than makes up for the disruption caused when someone else fires it backwards at you.

Hi all...

I had no idea the oil was previously considered, oh well. I'll see if I can think of something else. The smoke screen can cover a larger area (and potentially more karts) than the plunger.

I thought the fly swatter was pretty clever, though. I remember looking on here one day (quite a while ago) and reading the proposal for that.
