My various questions.

Hi,

How can I clear the STK configuration files? I want to try 0.7.3 but it seems to remember some of the settings from 0.7.2 and/or the various SVN versions I've also got on my disk. I extracted 0.7.3 RC1 but it remembers the last kart, track & number of laps I had set up from the previous time I loaded it. I even removed the hidden home ./supertux kart & re-extracted the file. There is also /home/zippy/.local/share/supertuxkart/ which I've tried removing but STK still seems to remember the previous settings!

I'm trying to do this because I'm still having problems with the kart steering, not just this version, all the STK versions I've played (starting with 0.7.2) do something weird I've already mentioned in another the 'Linux package development' thread. I just through I'd make my own rather than continue to mess up that one, I hope thats ok? I went and bought a new USB controller today of a different make & model but it still exhibits the same problem. I've also tried using it on USB ports at the rear of my PC rather than the front ones, but the issue isn't going away yet.

Starting with clean configuration files is my current line of thinking, if someone could help me with doing this it would be much appreciated, thanks again.

Hm.
On OSX, the files are in:
1) Applications/STK/data
(To get inside the Supertuxkart package, rightclick and say show package contents)
And:
2) Home/Library/Application Support/Supertuxkart

Hope I helped, if not speak to a Linux or Windows user for their file paths :)

Thanks Arthur, that helped. I removed the current config files & started afresh.

I played the game but found I could still make the steering go wonky. Can anyone else try this out: use purely the mouse to select a single-payer race, the character, normal race, any track, start race. But when using the mouse can you mess the mouse around over different options on the screen before selecting the appropriate button. When I do this, when I get into the race & start to use the USB controller, even before the green light, the steering gets stuck in either a left or right position. This means I cant then centre the steering & go straight.

Can anyone else make this happen? Note I don't see this as a major issue, because if I'm playing multiplater I'd tend to use just the USB controller but if I'm messing around on my own or I get lost using the gamepad I might use the mouse on the menu.

Sorry, I can't reproduce this here. Maybe others can test
