I wonder where is the track "On the beach" was a very good track.
I prefer this track to "The Old Island" running too, which looks a bit like "Volcano" and that is very difficult. Sorry for those who created the track "The Old Island" but it would be good if we could rework the track.
Or, put the track "On the beach" was a good track that was not in the addons yet she struts super.

someone would need to port the track to the latest STK format, then post it on the add-ons website. We still have the blender file but I don't have time to prepare it myself.

Are you familiar with blender? If you have never used blender I'm afraid you would have a hard time doing it

I have the latest version of blender, I know some basic blender after .....

Download the beach blend from the media repository : http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Media_Repo

Then check http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Tra ... 7s_Guide_2 to see how tracks work. You can skip the modelling parts since this track is already modelled, so you only need to learn about the STK panels to enter the proper settings.

In the media repository, also check the python script to convert tracks from blender 2.4 format to blender 2.5 format, this can save you some time

The thing that annoys me the most about this game is that the Secret Garden track was replaced by Zen Garden.
Why? These tracks are nothing alike.
Just because they both have the name 'Garden' in the track doesn't mean you had to remove Secret Garden.
It was my second favourite track in the game (first being XR591) and in my opinion it is a lot better than Zen Garden.

We have to restrict the number of tracks in the base package to avoid that it gets too big.

I think that secret garden was one of the most polished track. Without it, the game loses in quality, because it's graphically very good, has an interesting shape, and that it adds consistency with zen's garden music which features the same theme. Pretty much all the criteria that makes of a track a good track are present !

So I tend to think that some tracks like "The island" should be removed instead of Secret garden.

I think Secret Garden and Zen Garden is a bit harder/more complex compared to The Island. STK needs to maintain the ratio between easy, medium, and challenging track to keep it acceptable for everyone.

And don't get me wrong, I love challenges myself and yet I prefer the current SVN is good enough.

Anyway for those who like some more can just simply use the addons, that's what addons for right?

The Island is one of our best-looking tracks and has quite good gameplay so honestly I really don't see why you mention The Island when we have ugly and boring tracks like Crescent Crossing or Shifting Sands :/

And I also understand that whatever change we make will please some people and displease other. I'm sorry... we need to make choices, and that's the reason why we have add-ons too

Except that in layer 3 you have twice drivelines left and rights unused.
