Arcade Racing games (eg Asphalt9) often offer a mode where the acceleration is happening automatically.
That's especially nice for kids (<12y), who find it hard to keep one keyboard or gamepad button pressed ongoingly.

UI-wise the could be an option in the control setting to assign "Accelerate" to "Automatic" instead of any specific key.

I think there is already an option for "Auto acceleration" on Android since 2020, but on non-mobile devices it seems like a useful option to have.
