Eagle Hallucination

Eagle Hallucination

Just an observation: Did you notice that the eagle that starts the races isn't real - it's just a hallucination all the players are having at exactly the same time?

You always see the eagle right in front (and above] your car. Even when you are in the last starting position, it's still right in front of your car.
And you bet all the other players in front of you are seeing eagles of their own right in front of _their_ cars. But do you see their eagles? No. Do they see yours? No. Could it be the same eagle for everyone? No, because then it couldn't be right in front of everyone's car, right? Therefore, STK races are started by eagle hallucinations.

It must be! Either that or it's a metaphor for what is on the kart dashboard, like the speedometer and other HUD overlays.

But let us acknowledge that Thunderbird, or personal Thunderbirds, must also be real in order to rescue players who fall off the track.

Thunderbird could be a hallucination players experience when they are under a lot of stress, such as just before the start of a race or when they crash or when they mess up. It could be a form of narcolepsy. Wikipedia says: "[...]These experiences of cataplexy can be brought on by strong emotions. Less commonly, there may be vivid hallucinations [...]." Please don't expect hallucinations to lift us back on the road when we drive off!

I checked, we can see other karts' thunderbirds when they're rescuing!
