The AI cheats by using nitro it doesn't have. The AI karts sometimes use nitro before they even get a chance to get any. This should be fixed.

I believe what you see is slipstreaming; karts get a boost with nitro-like particles behind if it follows another kart closely for a while.

Yes, I think so. You must be mistaking the "aspiration" and the nitro, kingtux.

... and what might cause even more confusion is that when using slipstream, nitro particles are indeed displayed -.- we should probably find a nicer way to indicate splistream is in use (ideas?)

Come to think of it, isn't there no sound effect for either slipstream or nitro? Maybe we can assign spesific sound for each or one of them?

That is a good idea, but not everyone drives with sound, so a more visual difference would be even better. Maybe change the coloring or opacity for slipstream particles?

I think we should create new topic in STK contribution for this. So more idea will come.

Maybe instead of showing nitro-like particles, the wind effect could be intensified during the boost ?

I think the nitro should use a whistling sound, whose pitch increases as the boost gets longer. Much like a a mondo supercharger.
