Thanks a lot Auria for your answer.

In my Terminal, it says:

jaimepena7@TarroSanto:/host/Users/Jaime/Downloads/supertuxkart-0.7.2-linux-glibc2.12-x86-64$ ./configure && make
bash: ./configure: No existe el fichero o el directorio
jaimepena7@TarroSanto:/host/Users/Jaime/Downloads/supertuxkart-0.7.2-linux-glibc2.12-x86-64$ sudo make install
[sudo] password for jaimepena7:

Hi,

JamesRock7 {l Wrote}:jaimepena7@TarroSanto:/host/Users/Jaime/Downloads/supertuxkart-0.7.2-linux-glibc2.12-x86-64$ ./configure && make
bash: ./configure: No existe el fichero o el directorio

You downloaded a pre-compiled binary version. So you should be able to just do a:
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
./run_game.sh

and it should start.

If you really want to/need to compile it yourself, you have to download the source package (supertuxkart-0.7.2-src.tar.bz2). This contains the configure script.

Cheers,
Joerg

New: 0.7.2a static packages for Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD (NDEBUG=1)

In the static packages of 0.7.2 is a very big bug contained :( I have builded stk with debug irrlicht :( :( :( The static packages was very slowly with debug irrlicht engine :( I'm sorry I didn't know that irrlicht compiled default with debug support. I've builded new static packages without Irrlicht debug support.

Sorry,

xeno74 {l Wrote}:I've builded new static packages without Irrlicht debug support.

The new version seems to run a little faster than before -- although I don't have any real benchmark* numbers to compare -- and since I have vertical synchronization on, smoother.

@xeno74:
The new packages still have insecure file permissions, though. (original post) I've been extracting the packages with
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
 $ sudo tar -xvjf supertuxkart-0.7.2-linux-glibc2.12-x86-64.tar.bz2

* is this in Feature Requests yet, or should I add it?

I have one suggestion for the next release :
Could you terminate the race when you are the last one of the race and when all the rivals have already ended the race ?
You could also add a 'shame on you' animation when it happens :)

checking for updates is already implemented, when a new release is there a message will appear in the bar at the bottom.

Regarding auto-update, this is much more difficult to do in a cross-platform way (need to ask for administrator rights often, etc.)

Some people seem to want this feature while others are very opposed to it, so to be honest I'm not sure what to do. I guess while there is no consensus the status quo will prevail ;) (anyway you can press escape and quit or restart)

You may find a consensus to add this feature only for the Grand Prix. You have to end the race if you want to play on the next race.

In Formula one, when you have a lap of delay and the first one wins the race, the race is terminated for you.

Maybe you can create a new forum topic for this where people can give their opinion?

Do you think to add a fast restart, by pressing acceleration button at good time, when kart is saved and re-placed on road (eg mariokart) ?

I think this is a good idea. Maybe you can create a ticket so we don't forget?

Would this also apply to the beginning of the race?

I've buyed Mac OS X 10.7, today. STK 0.7.2 runs perfectly on 10.7 Lion :)

It's fantastic. STK 0.7.2 supports a lot of Mac OS X versions:

I've tested STK 0.7.2 on:

Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther (PowerPC)
Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger (PowerPC)
Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard (PowerPC)
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard (Intel)
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion (Intel)

Thank you so much for this great game :)
