Keyboard Bug: Kart goes backwards without a key pressed

Hi once more
(pretty bad) BUG REPORT:
I'm having a problem with the most recent version of STK installed from the PPA, under Ubuntu and Kubuntu: When a race starts, a message appears and tells me that I pressed the gas too early (I haven't been touching my keyboard), then, after the countdown, the kart starts driving backwards. No change if I press the back-button. Keyboard reconfiguration does not help. Even assigning different keys doesn't change anything. If I press the button for forward, the kart sometimes slows down, but accelerates backwards again. Pressing the buttons for left / right results in on-off reactions to the pressed side, e.g. when I press nothing but the right-button, the kart moves back and goes a little to the right for a few tens of a second, than nothing for a second or so, a little to the right again and so on.
If you want technical information, tell me how I can get it for you ;-)
Under Windows, same version works without problems.

Hi,

can you start STK with flag --gamepad-visualisation and check if any gamepad is reported with some button constantly pressed?

No key was pressed during that recording.

Hmm your system appears to report gamepad 1 as constantly pressed. Can you try disabling this gamepad in the options screen?

That helped, thanks! I wonder if that's a common problem? Hope you guys will find a workaround.
I'll keep watching for bugs and inform you here.

this seems relatively common on Linux; sadly we pretty much reached the end of workarounds we can apply; the real issue here is the system reporting a bogus gamepad, I can't fix that :(
