Making tracks for the latest version of STK

I want to try my hand at making a track. I've tried to figure out from the blog and elsewhere what is needed...but I'm a little confused about if the tutorials out there are out-dated.

Can someone give a brief bullet list of what is needed? Is there a way to use Blender (which I'm a total noob at) and load an existing map to see how a completed track is done?

I want to do two things:
1. Make a big "arena-type" track because my 6 year old daughter likes to play but finds the current tracks a little challenging.
2. Work on a track idea that I have.

Hi,

the appropriate information is found under the right column at http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Get_involved . You can also checkout our media repository to see existing blend files.

Regarding whether they are outdated... yes and no. They are still the official ones, but I expect that the new scripts for Blender 2.5 will soon be stable enough, so in not too long the pages may need to be adapted for the transition to blender 2.5

In general, I'm afraid you will have a lot of trouble getting anything done if you don't have at least a reasonable minimum of blender knowledge

Thanks, that should get me started. I haven't really used Blender, the closest I came was that I used Qoole (I think) back in 2000ish to make a map for Quake MegaTF. I'm sure it's not very close though. :)
