Hello everyone.

In August (beginning at the end of July), there will be another Soccer Tournament and we, organizers, decided to advertize it here in the forum as well this time.

In order to participate, you will need an online account. You can register here: https://stk.kimden.online/tournament/.
Note that you will need a token to confirm that you register your own account. More information about this is also on the registration form.

The Soccer Tournament will have several randomly generated teams, each consisting of 4 players. Every match will be played in 3 games on 3 different arenas. The complete rules you will find here: https://www.luffah.xyz/wiki/supertuxkar ... 0_08_rules.

Registration will close at around July 25th.

Argh, darn it! I already missed the first registration period for this year, and now I realized I just missed registration for the December Tournament as well. Oh well, at least I registered as substitute player.

I didn't even know this tournament existed before I randomly downloaded an addon.

But I really like this idea of the tournament, good job in setting this up!

Today was the first match of the June 2021 Tournament. This is going to be a great tournament!

I noticed something strange. Apparently the match A vs E is rated 3:1 in the crosstab. But how is that possible if only 3 games are played?

It's 3:1 because there was a draw which is counted as 1:1.
So technically even 3:2 (with 2 draws) and 3:3 (with 3 draws) are possible

I think this is unfair. Lets say that team A and B played well this tournament and they both have a score of 12:3 according to points and the number of matches they won. But if team A has a match that is drawn, then their score becomes 13:3 which is unfair to team B.

In my opinion, both teams get 1/2 points for a draw so that is fair to everyone whereas in your way of ranking, a draw will be counted as win.

We can surely make a poll about this before the next tournament starts, I see the point

1. It is 13:4
2. It is not unfair as we compare only the differences of won and lost games, draws do not affect that

Ok, i get it. So there not difference whether it is 12:3 or 13:4 right?

Congratulations to Team B for the win of the June tournament, you were just too strong. But we in Team D still came in 2nd, woohoo!

EDIT: For the next tournament I suggest to ban Las Dunas Soccer Stadium because it's an inherently unfair map (just look at the weird asymmetrial shape).

EDIT 2: For the Soccer Tournament website, how about adding a Hall of Fame page to honour all winners of previous tournaments? It would be nice to have an overview.

I agree, in this tournament we had a lot of great matches, but some players were missing too often :-(

Not sure whether banning Las Dunas is a good idea - it usually is played at most once in the whole tournament anyway... And maybe someone will complain if we ban it. But we probably shouldn't require it so that people can just delete it (despite it being an official field, sad we have to say this about an official field!)

A "Hall of fame"-like page sounds cool :-)

Even if I like Las Dunas, it is a good idea to have all official tracks and arenas actually playable - and if some people cannot play it due to lags, it is a real problem. Though the arena being slightly asymmetric isn't a big problem because the main problem with this arena is players refusing to play it because of lags - we cannot really say "that team lost because of that corner" if someone just complains on lags immediately and they play another arena, lol. Probably Las Dunas is still official because not many devs are interested in maintaining something for soccer (though for racing there is the same lag problem with two official tracks).

Not that it is pretty hard to find tournament pages once you found one (links are literally everywhere), but I agree that some overview of winners and matches would be good. Probably we'll do something soon.

Its funny that team A lost with teams which are last in the table. It was very interesting Tournament!

It would be nice if somebody updated las dunas. Maybe if some lights and effects are reduced and make it less dark it shouldn't cause lags.

Hall of Fame sounds pretty cool. Maybe we can show best set of teams which are successful throughout all the tournaments.

Tournaments usually happen each two months (so the next one would be in August), but due to possible unavailability of organizers we might also do the next one later, in September/October. In any case, it will be announced and advertized (almost) everywhere possible, so don't worry, you won't miss it
