I did a bit of 3d modelling in studio max. I dont know if that could be helpful, if it could please let me know because I'm interested in helping develop this game further.

Also, any plans for online play in the future?

Hi,

Atm we only support blender. The main issue here is that we need to export additional information about materials and tracks/karts, and we have scripts to do that in blender. You could either try to learn blender (best option imho), or model in Studio Max and then import the file into blender - though I don't know how well this works.

Also, any plans for online play in the future?

See our milestone page.

Cheers,
Joerg

Alright, is blender open source or will I have to pay for it?

Just one warning: blender recently released their version 2.5*, which is major update. The scripts for this version are under development (and mostly done). Auria, can you comment if the 2.5 scripts are ready to be used?

Cheers,
Joerg

The 2.5 scripts are not quite ready for production time I'm afraid - especially in the karts department where a lot of work is still needed
