Using same email address for online multiplayers?

Would it make sense to allow multiple players (e.g. family members) using the same email address for multiplayer online gaming?
Currently, it is not possible, so as "family admin" (
) one has to assign different email addresses for all players. This is not a big deal, but I just wonder whether it would maybe not too complicated to change that. Wouldn't the different user names (local and online) be sufficient for a differentiation?
