Art museum track in 0.7

Postby grego1422 » 19 Feb 2011, 11:24

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and first of all I want to thank you for making possible having this great game in Linux, which is by far my favorite game!

Now my question...
I realized that I can never win or even complete a lap in Art Museum for 0.7
I searched the forum and I couldnt find someone reporting this, so...
Is it just me or the track really has a problem??

Thank you!

ADDITION: Volcano track does'nt have a lap marker either.

Probably someone did a conversion for 0.7 while it was still in development, so it is only partly compatible, or the person who did the porting didn't care to make the drive quads required in 0.7.

So we can only hope someone steps up and fixes this, since it's not part of the main game.
Hey pal, I took an oath for justice! "In happy days or tightest tights..." or something like that.

I would guess that the lap mark isn't there as it is in the new Fort Magma (which is included in the main game :p )

Crendgrim, new Fort Magma is_not_included in the main game. It is in trunk now and it means you're using it for your own risk.

KroArtem:
Of course, it's in trunk. But trunk is in some way the main game, isn't it? ;) (it's somehow "the most main game", if you take my meaning)
I only searched for a possible explanation for the Art Museum bug.

Problem about track artmuseum is licensing
Auria don't tell me a way to diffuse this track which include non-free textures (it would be great if she does ;) )

This is why I don't support art museum (and other features like highinthesky.track spider.kart and plee.kart )

I'm sorry as I hope you are
I 'm waiting news from tuxthepinguin#1 and toren1994 about this features

Crendgrim:
no, unfortunately I don't understand what you mean. Trunk is for testing, as developers add new features there and, as a result, new bugs too, that's why if you're using stk from svn you're aware of receiving bugs.
However I think this was just misunderstanding ;)

Rudy,

the track is basically illegal, because it violates copyright statements (it uses materials from authors that asked to be credited, without crediting them). So a way to diffuse this track is basically to start your own website, put it there, and hope no one sues you in court.

Yes, it was. Nevermind, let's put that down before we'll continue arguing while we don't understand each other :p

It's a great track, it would be great if it could be included in Main.

By the way, I cannot create a new topic, I dont know why, so I'll say it here.

In Amazonian Journey I think the lap marker, or lap checker (I dont speak much english) should be a little wider, cause if you slowly pass it by the side, the lap wont be scored (counted), you have to pass it just over it, maybe making it a little wider and adding some rocks on it's sides it's a good idea. :)

On the other hand, Chuck is a really representative figure in OpenSource, and it's my favourite character. Would he be included in Main?? :D

Goodbye! STK rocks!

Hi,

chuck will be included in main if someone makes a nice poly-polygon model; the current model is very high-poly and will cause massive slowdowns on lower-end computers

Speaking of Amazonian Journey, I thought finish line was widened some time ago in svn.
