steering

I am using a Logitech gamepad F310 for SuperTuxKart 1.1-2.1.
I am using the right joystick for steering.
At times the steering becomes erratic, is there anything that can be adjusted for this problem?
Is it the game or the controller?
How would I tell?
Any help/suggestions please?

do u have a video of showing when steering erratic happen?

or does it behave the same when you use keyboard controller?
