OpenGl 4.4 too old?

OpenGl 4.4 too old?

Postby eltomito » 05 May 2015, 14:39

Supertuxkart 0.9 complains that my OpenGL driver is too old, because it needs 3.1, but the amd control center says it provides OpenGl 4.4.
The game runs, but the skid marks are opaque black, so are the slipstream tunnels and sometimes all that's left of the AI carts is wheels.
This happens regardless of the advanced graphics pipeline being on or off.
Could somebody help me get stk to run right please?
I'm using Ubuntu 14.4, catalyst 13.12 and ATI Radeon HD 6300M Series.

Thank you!

I just found out that supertuxkart-0.8.2-beta2 doesn't complain about my opengl version and the graphics are almost perfect. there's just no skid marks and booster effects and the game is a bit slow even on very low settings (advanced pipeline: on, everything else off except character animation: all).

In 0.8.2, there haven't been any checks for drivers that are to old.

Strange! 0.9 recognizes my opengl version correctly now, too!

Hi,

I have no idea why the warning would have disappeared - but since it's apparently fixed then it's good ;)
