No there is no need to recompile it with _IRR_MATERIAL_MAX_TEXTURES_ 2, because your GPU so ATi 9600 supports 8 already.

Maybe you want build for very older computers for some year 2000 level :think: , then fix all nonpot textures, lower down bigger textures to 512x512 level, turn off shaders and filtering by default and than rebuild with _IRR_MATERIAL_MAX_TEXTURES_ 4. I think with that STK will work OKish even on first generation of geforce or radeon.

How i can play it even if i restrict VRAM to 64MB :) . Half-joke yes :p , but that is true just with older card/drivers. With modern memory managment implemented in drivers you can play *overworld* with no texture trashing maybe even on 32 MB! :cool:

So that is bacause _IRR_MATERIAL_MAX_TEXTURES_ 8 , i lowered down to max texture units i have and problem goes away :cool: .

:) Must tried those minimum VRAM limits and that is it :heart: . So, 64 MB VRAM is actually a minimum for not tweaked STK 0.8! FBOs are not posibile with lower VRAM i think :think: .

Also someone who needs that, can run it even with 16-bit screen depth, that will also double lowered VRAM usage ;) .
