The movement in the main screen is not intuitive

The movement in the main screen is not intuitive

Postby quicksort11 » 08 Feb 2012, 23:51

this post is because i dont know how to put a bug ticket, so, this is something i found

When you press up and down in the main screen the focus dont go exactly to what is down or up of your selection, ex, if you are focusing complements and press the down key then the focus go to options, it would be better that the focus go to exit.

If you press the right and left keys quickly, the focus dont follow you quickly as well.

Hi,

yes the up-down issue is known, but low-priority. This is STK 0.7.3? In 0.8 the menu layout is different so this issue is better. But frankly usually mouse is better to navigate menus

I'm starting to play STK with joysticks mostly, so having a good arrow navigation is important.
BTW, when using the svn version with joystick, only right and down directions works, left and up does nothing. (But no problem ingame, and I checked the joysticks configuration)

Yes, i am using 0.7.3, is there a 0.8 already?, because i would like to make some recomendations about the menus. I am learning c++ programming right now, so, the only contributions i can make is about design

sorry :( 0.8 is still in the works with a ways to go.
Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't help smiling when you shove them down the stairs.

I agree with this. I can see people playing on a TV with gamepads, and having to switch to mouse all the time is just not acceptable.

I haven't tried a gamepad for some time. Could you add this into trac?

Thanks!

Before though, check the options to see what keys menu-up and menu-down are assigned to
