I'm stuck in the Challenges

hello (french so sorry for the horrible english)

I have tryed Supertuxkart and enjoy it !
But the 4th challenge i did is too hard for me. I'm a beguiner and for this challenge( the penguin grand prix) I have to win several races against 3 expert level AI karts ...To win only one race is already extremely hard for me. So i guess I will not unlock all the new tracks/challenges for a loooong time...
I'm not really familiar with race games but I think this challenge should be at the end.

may be there is something I did'nt understand ?

Nope, you understood it perfectly well.
If you're having trouble with the first challenge or so, practice!
Also, if you are REALLY desperate, you can modify the Penguin Playground cup's .xml file and modify the number of races/laps you take.

There is a way to cheat and unlock all challenges by editing the challenges.xml file in your user config directory - where it is depends on your system. In the future we would like to have several difficulties for challenges. Maybe in 0.8?

Well, as you state you are a beginner. So since you are trying to do a Challenge, you should expect it to be challenging, no?

Of course I expect it to be challenging, It's just that I did'nt expect to be so rapidly confronted to expert level AI and have to win all the four or five races !
It can be discouraging for newbies.
But it's a really funny game, and free as in beer and in speech, so... !

First of all there might indeed be a small misunderstanding: you don't have to win all races, you only have to be at the top of the list at the end, i.e. winning the most points. You might win the GP without even winning a single race (if you make sure that you hit the karts who are ahead of you in the list are hit with enough cakes, ...). So certainly don't give up if you lose one race.

I'm not really familiar with race games but I think this challenge should be at the end.

Well, we hope to improve the challenge systems (e.g. have three different level of challenges, maybe depending on the game level you play on, but also perhaps relax some other conditions like number of nitro etc), but I don't expect this to happen soon.

hehe, ok, I didn't catch that, I would rather call that a major misunderstanding !! thank you, I think i'll try this challenge again now !

Different level of challenge would be a great improvement indeed.
