Game won't run. Ubuntu 11.04

I'm very new to Linux (just started about a week ago) so preemptive apologies if I have no idea what the hell anyone is talking about.

I installed this game using playdeb and it appears to be crashing on startup. A quick Google search suggested that I run the game via terminal to find out what the problem is. Now, the bigger problem is that I still don't know what the problem is. I was wondering if anyone could help me out here.

I activated DirectRendering and OpenGL a few days ago and so far, the only thing I've been able to use it for is turning my desktop into a cube and spinning it around. So far, I've found that both fun and useful, but I'd like to do other things with it, too. My laptop is old as hell, but I know it's capable of playing this game. Any advice?

This indicates a problem with your graphics driver. Nothing much we can do about it Try updating your driver, and/or googling for this error message. Maybe someone here with more Ubuntu background can give you more specific instructions.
