Could UH be built for Android, based on the Linux code?

Hello,

Coming from SuperTuxKart (STK) in this forum, which can be built for Windows, Linux, and Android (incl. Amazon's Fire TV/FireOS), I wonder if Unknown Horizons could also be built for Android?

If it is possible in theory, what would be needed in addition to the currently available source code?

(for STK, there are assets for the different OSes)

The old engine does not support Android, so currently this is not possible.

But work is being done to port it to the Godot Engine. Once that is done an Android port would be easy to do.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I cannot help with programming, but I offer my help for testing and building on Android when that is asked for in the future. The Fire TV and Android TV boxes are nice alternatives to play such games with the kids also on larger TVs. ;)

This is the repository for the Godot Engine port:
https://github.com/unknown-horizons/godot-port

It should be quite easy to set up for testing it on a PC. I am sure they will appreciate bug reports and other non-programming input.

Interesting! I would like to look into Godot. :)
EDIT: And will post about it in another thread.
