love2d has self-signed https i think It's signed by comodo, which might be blacklisted after the 2011 security breach though. even with firefox, which doesn't even offer the option to store the exception permanently. Huh? ...

Any particular reason for choosing Python?

With the context of Godhead and LoS, I'd suggest Lua. I don't think it makes much practical difference (Python vs Lua for Scone) but learning Lua has more obvious for your situation.

Lua's pygame equivalent is LOVE: www.love2d.org

it's the download we used to submit, we had some sound problems with love2d, so we tried to use .wav
also it has the art doubled in the game standalone as well as in the source.
we'll clean it up in the following days *g*
