No news here for a long time...

I am still working on the in game menu, and it could be released for 0.7 + 1 (0.7.1 I think).
The main screen:
Image
The news are downloaded from the stkaddons server : "0.7 is coming soon".

The karts list:
Image
There is the same menu for the tracks, and the update menu looks like it too.

The addons preview (ok, the kart screenshot is bad ^^)
edit: and my screenshot is bad too :D
Image
If we want to install an addons, a progress bar appears and show the download state.

The addons can be updated and removed.
When an addons is installed, the kart list is refreshed (it is till a little buggy...) and we can play with a kart immediately.

To try it, just configure stk (on linux) with:
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
./configure --with-addons
make clean
make
src/supertuxkart

Or add a define ADDONS_MANAGER to your compiler.

BartK created a SuperTuxKart tracks section on OpenGameArt.org here : http://opengameart.org/browse/3d/category/2872
So, we won't use the blender branch on stkaddons anymore, the artists can submit their blender files to OGA, it is more logical :)

I submitted the track of asciimonster, because they can't keep an empty category, but feel free to add your art :)

(asciimonster : if there is any problem : e.g. license, description, etc... You can re-submit Doing the Dishes on OGA, I will remove the other :) )

Nice :) though doing the dishes had no licensing information in it as far as I'm aware, this would be a problem for a site like open game art

Hum, ok... The textures aren't in the blender file, there is only the mesh, so, I hope there is no problem. It is a placeholder, we couldn't let a an empty category :)

edit : asciimonster : there is no problem for your mesh ? so you agree to put it under CC-BY-SA ?

The is only a problem with the textures. Yes you may place the mesh under the CC-BY-SA licence.

Don't forget to acnowlegde JeffZHigs, he came up with the idea for this track...

xapantu, is there a way you can separate the 0.7 karts\tracks from the 0.6 karts and tracks.

Also on the bug reporter I reported some karts as not working. Maybe I am wrong and they do work, but because I've tried everything and they still don't work for me, here they are, 0.7 AUDAcity, 0.7 Frankie, 0.7 Penny, and NEW Skirpy.

When I try to run these karts I get this message.
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
Error while parsing KartProperties '.data/karts/skirpy/kart.xml':
Couldn't load kart properties '.data/karts/skirpy/kart.xml': no kart node.

I get this with each of the above karts.

Yeah, they worked with a very old version of stk 0.7, when alpha 2 wasn't out I think. So, they need to be updated... :/

Sorry, I'm in California on a school trip at the moment. The old database will not be used at this time. I still need to clean up the parts of the add-on manager to make it work with the new database and support the new options. Hopefully I'll be able to get around to that soon.

Hi Rudy,

Stephen recently posted a message on the mailing list saying that the new website (visit it at http://stkaddons.net/svn-sj04736/ for now) should now be ready to accept new content. So if you wish you could register at the new website and start uploading contents - and report any bug you find.

Rudy:
I'd rather set the button either below the description or let it remain where it is. Seeing who has designed it is important, but IMO should go with the other information.

Stephen:
Unfortunately, I've got some problems with MySQL here. Somehow it likes to crash every few minutes :( Still have to dig into that before I can finally install stkaddons..

@Rudy - Fixed transparency.
[edit]
I looked through the Amiga kart. Can you please specify which version of the "CC-BY-SA" license you are using in the License.txt file?
[/edit]

@Crendgrim - I don't know. I have some experience setting up MySQL servers, but I've never had issues with crashing. Thanks for taking the time to try though. Hopefully you'll be up and running flawlessly soon!

My work license ?
or tom Jenkins or berny's work ?

Mine I don't care : I alway use cc-by-sa because Auria and someone I don't remember told : "CC-by-SA is more useful than GPL about art."
I f you known that I don't care a lot.

As you can read in my signature My work can be released under the (most) free license you want.

Generally you need to specify the version, so next time you make a license file, you could write CC-BY-SA 3.0
