The Carnegie-Mellon Graphics Lab Motion Capture Database is a huge collection of bvh animation files - see the list https://sites.google.com/a/cgspeed.com/cgspeed/motion-capture/cmu-bvh-conversion/bvh-conversion-release---motions-list. Follow the link in the first para to the main page.

There are 'Max friendly' sets that can be imported into Biped, then you can export and save as a native bip animation. While I have been able to load, animate and mod bid animated models, and they look pretty spiffy, every export I have done in a game format has come out with what looks like screwed up vertex weights. This is actually one of the reasons I gave up on Max and went low brow with Misfit. There is a mov file showing how to use them with Max here: http://www.mediafire.com/?rwizjzdyumt .It's a great resource, and I am pretty sure there are ways to get them into blender
