LuckyStrike-Rx Plasma Concept

LuckyStrike-Rx Plasma Concept

Postby LuckyStrike-Rx » 01 Dec 2012, 05:23

This topic has been split from "New plasma model in progress" due to a topic derailment.

Yep, the main concept and low poly shape seems a good start.
It's the one I started and lost with my hardrive ;_; (but it wasn't that good, so nvm)

Things that won't appear on screen (like handle or stock) don't necessary need to be overly detailed, as they will be hardly noticed. Better keep poly for visible parts. Also working with the hand model and 1rst person view help to keep things proportionate and close to how it will looks in game.

Good hints and nice footage - your try was very good, seen from the design perspective! Maybe this is a nice spring of inspiration :) .

Wow Lucky, that looks totally different than the proposed look in this thread but I like it as well. Too bad it is gone with your HDD...
It looks like the Covenant weapons in Halo, very alien :)

... Also good to see which parts are thought for animations. The place for the "battery" or powercell is visible here too.

heh, I feel like Lucky sort of stole the show for me, and now all I want is to see his kickass uber-detailed model come to life.
Sorry bout that Rabid; I still wholly support your effort and would love to see it finished. :)

I won't work on that model, it was only for inspiration.
I'd really like to see Rabid model finished.

are there any models in general you might work on...?

Of course, I'd also like to see Rapid's model done, perhaps he could take inspiration from yours. I mean, LOOK at all that detail!

I think the reappearance of one member instantaneously derailed this thread.
I would like to see the rabid plasma finished, rather than having it drowned in requests to make the luckystrike launcher... :D
I lost the game.

Too bad that you lost it because it looks awesome... Any way i hope you provide some more awesome models for the game, because you are really talented.

I just wanted to eventually show how normal maps could be worked on rabid model, as there where some similarities between the concept models.
Didn't though it would derail like that, sorry. I'll try to catch Rabid on the IRC.

Well, this topic in itself isn't really useful, as the model is lost. Except to receive compliment (thanks btw) but it wasn't the point.

The topic can be closed eventually. Specially since it may look I created this topic to grow my ego with a 1 y o model.
For the request, I still wish to do modelling/mapping for RE (If Quin still agree, of course) once I'll have free time. But I get into personal issues (cumulated with tones of work) since last year.

You're always welcome to contribute, I know what it is like to get overwhelmed by real life. 7 days now and my first child will be born :)

Maybe you are right, but don't fear that it looks as you did it for your ego. I mean it's quite clear that you invested much work and time in your model and if this is all that's left over, why not show the document which is worth for? This could inspire other people to work hard on their visions too. So maybe your work was not for nothing in general.

Quin: Hey nice news. More important than Red eclipse and responsibility ..*phew*. Congrats and good luck :).

I suggest this topic being split into Quin last 6 days ;)

Yep, great news. I made a small (sry :/) donation for the occasion. Should be enough to make a few baby-size RE T-shirt.
