This is my first map for Red Eclipse. The map is called Escape and it is made for the time-trial and campaign game modes.

Instructions:
-Move the three files from the folder "Map Escape" into your Red Eclipse maps folder.
-Move the folder "escape" into your Red Eclipse sounds folder.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvg8mHe2AFE

-------------
This map will be part of a 3 part mini singleplayer. I am working on a story to tie the maps together.

This is the first release so I would love to have any feedback. Unless there are any major bugs, this version will be the main version until I can perfect the course.

*The campaign has been tested very little with this release. If you feel like testing it out type /campaign escape. Your bot teammates will not be able to keep up, Use /botlimit 0 for now.

If you have no clue what to do in this map try watching this movement tutorial.

If you have mastered this course you may want to try Escape Advanced. Its a more difficult version of the course.

If anyone has any ideas for the map pack, I am open to any suggestions.

You have to make the jump to get the checkpoint. I still have some tweaking to do on some of the checkpoint radiuses. Ill add your time to the list, thanks for trying the map.

Nice map, well balanced increasing difficulty and cool ambient

I just don't get why the door are not animated.

It's caused by the parameter flag : hidden on the map model flag 0 make it work ok
Also, I want my time in the ranking, I spent an hour to get the best score :)

Very nice map! My second attempt at a speed run earned me a best time of 2:52. I can polish it with later attempts. Going to try the advanced version now :) I like puzzles ^^

Oh and the textures are awesome. They really remind me of Duke Nukem 3D, when you start seeing the walls covered in slime and alien technology. Nice nostalgia and VERY cool textures. Excellent work so far :)
Even the music that came in the end was awesome sounding <3

One fault is the door though, and that the guy who talks to you, his voice is very hard to hear. Amplify it a little bit :P

[EDIT]
Jeez, wow. I was doing fine in the advanced version until the large room with the pillars. You know, the walljump area where the little lava tubes were in the regular one. The closest I get to the far platform is just before it, and I don't have enough impule for a last jump :/ Any pointers?

the right side is the easiest. wall ride the long wall on right with only one jump and one wall ride. just to corner and one wallride, then turn right and one more jump /wallride. no wall /section should take more than one jump/wallride. good luck, it gets harder.

Argh! I figured out the trick to doing the first laser section...but the second, I'm at a loss. Am I missing something? You can't single jump high enough to clear the first row, so it needs a double jump, but in doing that I always end up unable to do a final wallrun to victory because of the 6 action limit.

This is very challenging, I like it!

here is a video of me beating the advanced. the last one is the most difficult and takes perfection.

Heres a little teaser for one of the other maps. Not much has been worked on yet with this one.

Heres is something ive been working for the course. Not sure if this will be a hidden area or part of the course. It consists of a button/jump puzzle where you have a white and blue colored door with a corresponding colored button to find. This is ended with a long sequence jump. i haven't gotten the pushers right for that part so it will be more challenging than it is.

So what do u guys think. Hidden area or part of the course. Im thinking in its current state its a little too intense for the main run but it may be cool if its not too overwhelming.

I tested it yesterday and I love it.

Idk if you are aware about it but it is worth reporting:
To open the first door, you have to open the second door and to find the button for the first door.
Problem: If you return to the first door it wont save your position. So if you die you're starting from the button. FRUSTRATING xD

PS: I didnt get the part after the first door is opened... FRUSTRATING xD

I have fixed most of the checkpoints so after you open each door you get a new checkpoint. I also made a few of the jumps easier. Thanks for your feedback.

Here is the latest release of escape. I hope I am in time to be considered for the upcoming RE release. I don't think much (if anything) is left to be done to the map.

(updated) Nov 21

Instructions:
-Move the three files from the folder "Map" into your Red Eclipse maps folder.
-Move the folder "escape" into your Red Eclipse sounds folder.

I think that this feels like a final version unless there are any unforeseen problems.

Please comment on your experience with the map.
