Yes !!! you can !

Debian users should run

{l Code}: {l Select All Code}

apt-get install subversion autoconf automake jam g++
apt-get install libsdl1.2-dev libsdl-image1.2-dev libphysfs-dev libvorbis-dev libogg-dev libopenal-dev

and (if you want the Add-on Manager)

{l Code}: {l Select All Code}

apt-get install libcurl3-dev

to install them.
