I just checked the statistics and we're rank 923 now. What's our negative record? :)

Right now we are 503 :) The rank went from 1,258 to 592 when Andrew made the last release on the 16 of June 2010 :) So SF really like new releases :)

Skorpio had asked about our "worst" ranking, looking a month at a time on this page, in February of 2009 our ranking was 122,144. Looking at the numbers on the page, the rankings appear to be the average over the course of the month.

Yeah, the making a release lowers the "age" of your most recent file and this helps your ranking somewhat, however what really helps us is that having a new release gets us on the front page of Games->RTS. Being on the front page gets us a lot more page views and downloads. It is the views and downloads which really push up our ranking.

We are currently ranked 2,067. With a 160 days old release, so when the new one hits the streets our rank will probably climb high :)

Yeah anything over 100 days for the release age or the last login and your score for those items is 0. Not only will that go way up but the download count generally goes crazy too.

The problem is getting a windows build environment set up. It is not easy to do, If anyone with a working windows development environment could build a new windows EXE we could put together a release on sourceforge.

If something is difficult to do, rather than get one person to do it and hope it doesn't break, let's get it documented.

I don't have hours to sit down and tinker but I do have a win? 64bit os and am happy to work on a build environment if someone can help me set it up

Your welcome to give it a go :), as I said oln said he would try and make a build for windows, but you can help each other out :)

I would suggest chatting with him on Google Talk to get started, that is how I got the build script for linux running. I now have a fully automatic script to grab all code an game content and build a source tar file, to be used in making a deb package. If you want to contact oln by Google Talk or mail, then send me a private message and I will give you his gmail.

Sure, send me a pm. Can I also get a copy of that build script?
