ok, but tomorrow... I am not on the computer where I have all my tools (gedit, filezilla, lampp, etc...) anymore... (I can change some css because my file browser is very clever but that's all :) )

The embedded videos thing is pretty cool. I moved the page "Video" to "Videos" as that seems to be the more common spelling (there is a redirect at the old name so either link will work). I also added a link in the sidebar to the videos paage, right below the screenshots page.

On a separate note, I like the look of the edit box background, however the text color in the edit box is a bit hard to read since it is so white. If that can be made slightly more gray that would be cool. I think the rest of the wikitext looks good it is just that on the darker background of the edit box the text should be a bit darker as well to avoid the glare.

The wiki is really looking awesome, you guys have done an excellent job of customizing it. :)

I created the page to test the plugin, so,I didn't think alot before creating the page.... but it is better now !

But if it isn't enough contrast, it could be difficult to read ?

:)

There is some videos in the current screenshots page... I think it is a bad idea. The page is too weighty. If you have a bad connection or of you have a bad computer, the wiki could be not nice... :(

I think we should move the video to the Videos page and let only the screenshots oon the Screenshots page :)

I agree, I think readability is pretty good now. I can test it more when I get home, if it works in a dark room with only the screen on it should work anywhere :)

Xapantu: In the edit field could you make it so that it extends to the bottom of the screen, like it does in the horizontal direction? (See attached screenshot)

I am not sure that would be a good idea... we can extend it (x2) but not more (for accessibility).

Finally, I think we shouldn't increase this size...

I was thinking about increasing is automatically, such that the footer is at the bottom of the screen. If you resize the window to be too small then the edit area should off course only shrink to a specified size. But if you have room on the screen (as I have in the screenshot) then I think we should extend the edit area such that the footer touches the bottom of the screen.

ok, I don't understand all, but I will try (but it is a little complicated to do only with the css).

I am now home and have tested the readability, and I must agree with Andrew; in dark rooms the readability is bad because of the bright text color.

So Xapantu, could you change the textcolor in the edit box only to this color? #ac9393

Also the "normal text" of all on all pages is currently #e0e0e0 could you change it to this color #c0c0c0? Thanks :)

Also in the "My Preferences" page could you make the table have a black background with a transparency of 50% like you did with the "contents"-list?

Also the tabs "User profile", "Skin", "Files", and so on in the "My Preferences"-page should have their text color changed to the same colors as the "normal text"

We also still need to change the "page differences" display when you click to see the changes made by an edit. The grey color doesn't work against some of the background highlighting. I am not sure whether we want to change the text color or the background on that but something has to be done.

Also, now that we have the math working for Google chart we may want to see if there is an option to change the background and/or the text color in the rendered formulas. I am not sure if this is possible though and it isn't a huge issue since there is unlikely to be that much math in the wiki.

There is, I posted how to do it in the wiki math thread. The exact code you should use is this
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
public static function renderMath( $tex, $params=array() ) {
     return '<img class="tex" src="http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=tx&chf=bg,s,E0E0E000&chco=E0E0E0&chl=' . rawurlencode($tex) . '" alt="LaTeX: ' . htmlspecialchars($tex) . '">';
     global $wgUser;
     $math = new MathRenderer( $tex, $params );
     $math->setOutputMode( $wgUser->getOption('math'));
     return $math->render();
 }

For your information then the first number E0E0E000 which is in RGBA format changes the color of the background, and the second number E0E0E0 which is in RGB format changes the color of the text.

The above gives the colors that should be used with the wiki :)

Andrew could you give me access to the wiki so I can change simple stuff like this myself? Then I do not have to bother xapantu if I do not have to :) Also how to I access the stuff then? through ftp or ssh? Which address/URL should I connect to?

Thanks xapantu and Andrew :)

The access for what you are talking about there is through SSH. You already have access since you are an OD admin but you don't currently have write permissions on the files in question due to the permissions issue being discussed in the other thread. I can change the function for now to be what you suggested above. If you want to check out the SSH see this page.

Ok thanks, the ssh thing seems to work, although I am currently in queue to get at active shell :S, ohh now I got access :) what is the path for the wiki? Just so I know it when you have chown'ed all the files.

All of the stuff is under /home/groups/ I forget the exact path now but if you cd to that and then just tab-complete your way through the folders you will eventually get to htdocs which is where almost everything is.

xapantu: could you give me write permissions to the images in /home/groups/o/op/opendungeons/htdocs/skins/dark ?

Thanks :)

I have optimized the PergamentDark.jpg so it only takes 118 KiB, and should load gradually on slow connections. And I want to upload the new version.

Thanks :) The 118 KiB did not look good, but the current one is now 246 KiB and looks as good as the original :)
