  • Now with a new GUI, it is not completely done, but we are getting there. The mini-map and goals screen will be finished in later versions.
  • Now with a main menu. We now have the code set up for a main menu, it will nicer in the next versions.
  • Fixed a bug in the cannon trap, so it can now actually be placed. It actually also somewhat works and fires a moving projectile :)
  • A lot of code refactoring, us devs love that :D
  • Now with support for normal mapping.
  • A claim tile sound, so you can hear you Kobolds working hard for you ;)
  • A bunch of smaller bug-fixes
  • The files structure has changed, the media folder is now gone.
  • The dojo now got training dolls and training poles.
Please suggest all the stuff that I have missed, and I will update this post.

A basic attack sound
The cannon trap works somewhat and fires a moving projectile
A lot of code refactoring
No longer crashes on exits
A bunch of smaller bug-fixes

Stuff that will probably also be fixed soon:
Dojo models from poss - will try to import atleast the ones he put out as a blender 2.4 file
Keeper voice by Venn!!!!11!!1

Is one of you able to debug it and see where it crashes? I guess it's thread-related, but i could be wrong.

I do not have the error, but I just said noticed since I added it to the top post. But I have another crash related problem though. When I play the latest release it tends to crash the entire computer, it locks up, after a few minutes of play, so not during exit. Is there a log file somewhere I can post?

Windows or Linux?
Never heard this bug before. It should create an ogre.log and a cegui.log. Everything else is directly logged to the terminal.

Linux, well the machine lock up entirely, and I have to do a hard reboot, so the stuff in the terminal is useless, I cannot see that :S

I think we should make a OD.log file also that receives all the stuff that gets output in the terminal, but which is not in CEGUI.log or Ogre.log.

Yeah, my plan is to make a logmanager wrapper class of sorts, to send all output from the game through, as the logmanager in ogre is not thread safe.

I have had something similar happen a few times. The game made X crash, never really tried to investigate the issue. Can't see any issues from the logs, you posted, but most output just goes directly to the terminal.

You could to ./opendungeons.bin > out.txt, or similar, to put the terminal output into a file in the meantime, and see what happens. (Maybe some more params are needed).
Maybe it's related to the graphics, looks like you have an intel graphics card.

When it crashes and locks your PC, are you able to drop to tty1? ctrl+alt+f1
If you can, then try killing the game process, then go back to your normal tty (6 on ubuntu I think)

I dislike interrupting my uptime :)

Nope none of ctrl+alt+[f1,...,f6] works the computer completely dies.

And on my laptop I have another bug where the graphics looks completely messed up, in a window, and the computer completely dies if I run it in fullscreen. But I can report that later. But I need a log file to give you any info, since I cannot read the stuff in the terminal when the machine dies, like that.

What does it look like on your laptop? There was another guy which had corrupted graphics.

You can pipe out the terminal output to a file as showed earlier if you want to see the terminal output after crashing.

Hm, yeah, that log wasn't very helpful. Hard to say what's wrong when the whole system crashes. Have you tested other games that drive the computer hard?

One of my collegues says it got Poulsbo, so that is the reason :), nothing to do about that. But then lets fix the error on my laptop, here is a screenshot of how it looks (This is when it is playable, sometimes it looks worse). I run it in a window.

It looks the same when I run it in full screen, but at some point it was even worse in full screen :(

Strange, only the CEGUI overlays (the mouse cursor is one, too).

Did you try redownloading the pngs from the /gui folder? Maybe they got somehow distorted.

They look fine. I always download all stuff from the svn and git when I build, I have a script that does it all.

The png's look fine, that was what you asked. I run in it on Linux. I have not tried it in windows on my laptop.

The crash on exit bug seems gone for me now. Looks like it was because the MiniMap wasn't deleted with the others (and the minimap is commented out now).

edit: no, it's there, overlooked it... But still it works now... Strange.
