Nightly builds

Several big projcts (OpenTTD, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Widelands, Openclonk, Warzone2100, just to name a few) offer nightly builds. I think OpenDungeons is a project that could gain more contibutors and testers if it would offer this service, too.

Agreed. Once we get the build system up and running, we should try to get some automated periodic builds.

Yes that would be nice. The PPA will also greatly help with that I think

oln, would you be able build the windows .exe file from the latest git so that the 3d guys can test out the team coloring for creature textures? I would do one myself however my windows is not booting right now so I am unable to do so. I think this alpha blending system that is in place now should work reasonably well so if the animators have access to the game and can get the materials/textures set up to use it before the release it would be nice.

Yeeehaaa no commercial software needed anymore :) FOSS all they way :) When you get it running please make a wiki post, then I will try it out and confirm if it works.

Going to update the wiki after i have had dinner. In the meantime you could test the build that I made (when it's finished uploading).

Since we've had a lot of changes, but have a few hurdles before releasing 0.4.8, I was thinking of uploading some binaries if there is an interest.

EDIT: I meant 0.4.8 of course.

Yes, I will make a msi again when the windows zip is up :)

Also setting up something to actually make nightlies would be awesome :)

I can set up a script for windows that fetches, builds and packages the msi package. Then we just need something that can run it every night :)
