OpenDungeons 0.4.9 planned release

Postby Bodsda » 14 Jul 2013, 07:32

Hi Guys,

Since it's been a while since OD made a release announcement and now that we almost have confirmed, working build instructions, I think this would be a good time to make one. I've set up a quick wiki page which I'm hoping you can all help me fill out, We will then use this page as the main link to OD Latest release information, archiving the old content each time (@svenskmand: Are you still the main handler of public relations for OD?)
http://opendungeons.sourceforge.net/w/index.php/Latest_Version

I also think we should at this point merge the dev branch back into master. We will then have a proper 'working' branch that stays that way for anyone trying out the game, whilst we break/tinker with the dev branch.

Any

I'm OK with merging branches, I'm not sure it is worth a release through.

Paul mentioned there are some problems with the new tile set and some materials/textures. Maybe those problems should be fixed first.

BTW, this topic doesn't show up in the global OD forum viewforum.php?f=15 . I mostly just click that to see the active topics.

I know, I have no idea why - I tried making it global but then that affected all other projects as well :(

Yeah a few pairs are just badly enumerated I assume ... besides everything well , and the creatures materials are not in the proper format so they appear white.

I changed the materials of some creatures to the new format a while ago, even if they just had a diffuse texture. I set some diffuse maps as specular maps in the material scripts and in the old version 0.48 that worked and looked a little better, but of course the spec maps need to be improved in the future (or the whole models need to be redone/updated). You have to figure out why the scripts don't work anymore.
