New Metallblech Modular City Buildings with damaged and destroyed versions. To be used as map models and changed when taking damage. All meshes use the same texture page to save memory using my city on a texture concept.

There is a problem with fog in the 1.1.6 build, GK should be able to add it in when we get him a 1.1.7 beta build.

What about short in game videos from the copilot and the AI to enhance the game setting feeling and presentation. We could have little 128x128 videos that paly according to the current game actions.

I think we even did have a VLC player implementation that we can use for this?

Sure but I would like the main gameplay demo first before we add extra stuff

Gk: I think that could be pretty cool, but I agree with adrix that getting the basics down first is of a higher priority... Which we still kind of need to write down, heh

What editor did you make the Mech model in? I'm trying to experiment a little however I can't find anything that imports MD5 files. Maybe it's asking a little too much but would you mind exporting your model and animation data into Ogre3D format?

For Blender 2.4x there is a md5 importer as a plugin.

Is Metallblech still under development? We at TeamXbow are developing a Mech shooter based on Red Eclipse for the last 18 months and for some reason I missed this project until Red Eclipse was released in March. Seems a waste to have 2 mech shooters based on the Cube Engine.

Nope, it's been dormant for quite a while. There hasn't really been any code implemented for it, and I don't think the models cronos made fit the licensing requirements of RE

Thats a shame it's dormant. Could have collaborated. We expect to have a release of a 'Technological Demonstrator' about mid year, assuming we get our mech working in RE. We would have been a bit sooner but our one md3 mech that worked in Sauer we couldn't get to work with RE, so our artist, Walter, is trying to do an md5, which he has never done.

The idea of the 'Technological Demonstrator' is to generate interest, show we are not wankers and that MekArcade is not vaporware. If anyone is potentially interested then please see http:/mekarcade.com , I haven't keep it updated, so the news is a bit out of date, but the positions vacant on the site are still vacant! So if there was anyone interested in contributing to Metallblech then have a look and see if you might be interested in helping. The goodies are still on offer for contributors.

Well, you can try and get in contact with Cronos, he has extensive experience in making models for Sauer/Cube based engines, and he has all these models shown in this thread still lying around

I already have enough troulble convincing our artist to release them with an open licence - which we insist on. Precious souls those artistes.

Well, Cronos was willing to release under CC by NC, which isn't entirely open but at least not as closed as default copyright
