So you may remember choria from about 8 years ago. Probably not. Here's an old video courtesy of Mr. Iwan himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ButC5wwwNQI

It's basically a 2d mmorpg with random battles, much like dragon warrior or final fantasy.

Anyway, i spent the last 3 months or so workin on a complete revision of it. So far the changelog looks like:

choria 0.9.0 -
- Replaced irrlicht with a custom SDL2/OpenGL based engine
- Resolution can now be changed in the config file
- Reworked entire UI and all artwork
- Added Lua for scripting
- Added starting builds to create character screen
- Added alt-enter to toggle fullscreen/windowed mode
- Added per-pixel lighting and smooth camera scrolling
- Added server clock and day/night cycle
- Added background maps
- Reworked skill system and all skills
- Reworked battle system to use individual timers instead of turns
- Battles can now support up to 8 fighters on each side
- Removed battle results screen
- Added animations to stat changes and action results
- Added status effects
- Action bar can now hold items
- Reworked all maps/monsters/items
- Added various map events: doors, portals, custom scripts
- Bosses are event based now and have fighting cooldowns
- Added various commands to dedicated server
- Switched to mingw for Windows builds
- Reworked design tool to use python/ajax instead of apache/php

Right now you'll have to clone the repo and build it manually. It's easy to build though, just follow the instructions in the README file. I can get you windoze builds upon request.

So check it out! Play it with your friends or somethin. Right now there are just three boss fights, but there should be a couple hours of grinding to do. The save format could potentially change in the future so don't get too attached to your characters. This is just testing for now.
