GCompris gets a new look

Postby Akien » 17 Dec 2014, 15:40

Hi there,

You might know GCompris, a well-established and libre educational software suite for children from 2 to 10. If you've tried it, you know that its pedagogy is great, but the design could use some love...
And that's precisely what GCompris is working on currently, with a fund raising campaign aimed at financing the complete overhaul of GCompris' graphics, with the help of a Krita designer and contributor.

You can check the Indiegogo campaign here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/new- ... r-gcompris
Note that it's a flexible funding, so feel free to donate even if it might not reach the funding target, the donations will be put to good use IMO.

Happy donation if you're not completely broke yet with the approaching new year's holidays :-)
Godot Engine project manager and maintainer.

They are/were using GTK and now they have moved to using QT Quick. The developer now has too many 'activities' in the game and it would be nice if they all have the same theme across all the activities. It's good they have got flexible funding so they can start with whatever they get this time around and come back would be good. I'm keeping an eye out as to what happens.
