Great news! Torque will be under MIT license.

Has anybody worked with Torque and could give their mind on whether it could be an ease-of-use competitor to Unity 3D?

The Torque 3D news is great, I hope http://ethernet.wasted.ch/ is going fully FOSS then. Compared to Unity I would say it is more limited to 3D multiplayer games and probably by now quite outdated, but I am by no means an expert on the engine.

The Freespace2 engine is sadly only open-source and not FOSS by license. Still looking forward to play it though.

I can do it tonight, if I am not occupied playing Torchlight 2 too much ;)

Edit:
Done... off to play some Tourchlight2 now (sadly still on Wintendo... but I expect a LInux port soon after the Steam Linux release, after all Torchlight 1 was just ported and is currently available via the Humble Indi bundle 6).

Apparently the China Town tutorial demo is also covered by MIT, so there's plenty of assets included too:

Now it seems it might only be the source and scripts that are free... I apologize if I gave false info, I'm a bit confused...
