Translating a release announcement + voice recordings

Translating a release announcement + voice recordings

Postby qubodup » 16 Nov 2011, 15:06

Hello,

I'm trying to get a text translated and recorded in as many languages as possible + ASAP. This is attempt to grow the player base and attract contributors/developers of Unknown Horizons.

It's eleven lines that talk about new features in Unknown Horizons 2011.3

All the info here. You can find me on #freegamer too!

What do you need exactly? Audio files for each of the lines?

How can I make translations and provide them to you?

Ideally one audio file for each line. vorbis or mp3. And text translations of title and description.

You could provide a Portuguese translation and voice? That'd be great!

Does anybody know of PT foss gaming blogs?

You can send the results to qubodup@gmail.com or upload them to for example http://ompldr.org/ in a zip/tar/7z and link it.

I'll try to create some audio files if I can manage to cancel some of the background noise, and yes, I can offer voice and the text translation.

That I know of, there is no dedicated blog in Portuguese (Portugal) for FOSS gaming, there could probably be a Brazilian one but I never looked.

Thanks a lot, Knitter!

I think the audio is fine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAUWgZPjl3E

I emailed http://www.blender.com.br/ about this. Not sure whether it'd make sense to post on http://www.gamedev.com.br/ but if somebody feels like it go ahead! :)

I really need to get more invested in such things. I'm just too bad at organizing my time (and spent a lot of time on native closed-source games lately ^^').
If I can't find the time to program, I should at least find the time to translate.

What do you think about translating the game with voices? For example, some nations can be English/French/Russian/etc and they can have some voice commands like 'Yes, sir', 'Construction complete', etc.

This is outside the scope of what I'm trying to do. I only want to translate the release announcement.

A discussion about fractions and languages should take place on their forums, however please test the game first if you haven't yet. :)

Sorry for a long delay, forgot to answer here. I've checked this game ~1.5 years ago, it wasn't in a playable state those days :)
Now I've installed it from ubuntu ppa and trie to run it:
