i think most of you know big buck bunny or sintel.
this jear the open movie needs a lot of money and it is planned to be a 90 min movie now.

Professional CG animations can easily cost much more than that; Pixar's are about $200M each. Big Buck Bunny was €150K apparently, for 10 minutes. I'd say it's a very modest sum.

The site explains they have other sponsors as well, so the full budget is higher. But they need the first half million to get most of the other money.

Its a movie, I have to agree that half a million is not that much. Also, it has a side effect: it will improve Blender. I would donate if I could without hesitation.
