Wiimote support

Re: Wiimote support

Finally, after more than 3 years (http://oldforum.freegamedev.net/index.php?t=msg&goto=23069&S=0544c6d9ca2945479cf0035ef98957de), the SVN trunk of STK has support for the wiimote (for Linux only for now)! (if you compile with the USE_WIIUSE CMake option).
There is still some fine tuning to do, and I would be pleased if I could get some feedback from the people on the forum. Right now I think the turning with the accelerometers is not reactive enough, and the mapping of the keys is probably going to change.

Samuncle, maybe you can set the -DUSE_WIIUSE option to the nightly builds so more people can test?

Congratulations funto, great job. I wish I had a wii-mote here to test it. That should definitely be included in the next blog post.

Wiimote documentation for 0.8.1

Postby SuperMat » 17 Nov 2013, 17:18

Please help us by confirming especially Windows instructions for Wiimote in the Wiki for the SuperTuxKart 0.8.1 Release: http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Wiimote
It would be nice to use the accordion menu from the Download page. That's why the article uses the classes from the download page, but it doesn't work.

Edit: after Windows is confirmed, you can remove the Warning that it's untested ;)

Wiimote will be ready for 0.8.1 ?
I made a controller icon for that some time ago in "Nitrous and other things"
Totoplus62 {l Wrote}:Sorry i don't want to change this subject but you were talking about Gamepad and I was thinking that in the new game version: nobody will be able to know that you CAN play with your wiimotes

So I re-create "Option-input.png" (the Wiimote draw was made with Inkscape, come from Openclipart and was in Public Domain, i modified the outline and deleted the "WII" letters at the bottom of the wiimote)

Now people will play with wiimotes :p

Yep, I think so. From IRC
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
11:33 < supermat> When do you release the first rc?
11:37 < hiker> tomorrow hopefully (well, for me ;) )
11:38 < hiker> I am just rebuilding, and then trying to create the windows installer
11:39 < hiker> Tomorrow morning (tonight for all of you) ... hopefully ... we can upload them
11:39 < hiker> Arg, we still need to fill the wiimote web page :(
11:40 < hiker> So maybe a day later

Edit: Nice icon.
