There is no point in uploading it to stkaddons if it becomes part of the official distribution ^^

Now that's a difficult point actually: We should have uploaded it, so that all 0.7.2 users can already use this kart. After all, that's what the addon manager is for. So if someone could upload it that would be great.

Then when we release 0.7.3, we need to take care of the situation that a kart might be around twice - once in the addon, and once in the official distribution. I'll open a ticket for that.

Cheers,

Amazing work Cea! This is a professional work!

Just two suggestions.

- The yellow is not enough saturated (from what I saw in the SVN) I think. not very "yellow"

- This kart (as many STK karts) don't have good "turn" animation giving weight to the kart.

When you turn to the left or the right, the kart doesn't move. Even if this kart is a little big, there no move, even a subtle one here. :)

Try my WIP kart and see animation: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1596&p=16047

What do you think about my suggestions others?

EDIT: I just see Auria compress the textures. Maybe the color prob come from here? :(

I think there is a problem with STK's lighting conditions. This is particularly visible on the GNU kart.

See Suzanne:
- in the Irrlicht mesh viewer: http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/5315 ... viewer.png
- in the kart selection screen: http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7118/suzannestk.png

actually it's the opposite IMO :) the mesh viewer does not appear to perform any lighting, whereas in STK light effects are used

Narann {l Wrote}:- The yellow is not enough saturated (from what I saw in the SVN) I think. not very "yellow"

I don't agree, a full yellow would be too flashy I think. I like it like that.

Narann {l Wrote}:- This kart (as many STK karts) don't have good "turn" animation giving weight to the kart.

Yes, I think the animations could be improved. Especially winning & ending ones.

Auria {l Wrote}:actually it's the opposite IMO :) the mesh viewer does not appear to perform any lighting, whereas in STK light effects are used

I agree : the mesh viewer seems to have a default lightning that is not comparable to STK's one.

Yes there is no lighting in the mesh viewer, but I think the lighting in STK in erroneous anyway ^^

No doubt it's one of the best karts in the game - and technically the best IMHO...

This one with "Emule" and "Kitty" karts are my 7 old year son favourites - at least is what he usually selects (and on this order)!...
Lately he is beginning to appreciate "Chuck" - but It seems horny devils don't make for a kid first choice ;) !

Anyway - great work Céa!

That's a matter of opinion - IMO I think Cea's design wins me over here. Agreed, they are two of the best looking Karts in the game as of 0.7.2.
I'm sure more are to come, though in the future, and an overhaul of karts like Mozilla and especially ElePHPant are BADLY needed as well.

Animation wise, Suzanne (sadly) isn't up to the standard of other karts (I do hope someone will work on it), but from the design it is IMO way better than Emule. Actually, I personally don't even think Emule is the second best kart, but that is probably only my unimportant opinion... :p

I <3 Suzanne

Emule seems out of place style-wise. A bit too much detail? Car a little too old-looking?

That's what I think - It doesn't go with the whole Karting theme, but you know, a little vintage won't hurt. ;)

Haha, indeed it is very old-looking :)
It's inspired among others by the alpha romeo P3, and Tintin's red car in the "Les cigares du pharaon" comic.

The fact is that the Emule software is as outdated as this kind of car ^^

Hey, I have Tintin and I own that volume! Wow!
Nice reference there, and I get your point.
