Postby mdtrooper » 24 Sep 2014, 01:10

Hi.

Well I am learning Blender, then I am newbie in Blender and as track maker.

I found this links:

I am trying to make a very simple track (a square more or less) but I have some problems:
in the exportation to track file

Image

is this correct command line for to test the tracks?
    {l Code}: {l Select All Code}
    supertuxkart --trackdir /tmp/

Regards.

It looks like you're on Linux Mint. Assuming that you put the track in ".local/share/supertuxkart/addons/tracks/<trackname>", then "supertuxkart -R --track addon_<trackname>" should be what you're after. This is my first time seeing the --trackdir option though, so I have no idea if what you've written would work.

You can also add on some more of the options listed in "supertuxkart --help". For example, I use "-R --track=addon_temple --laps=99 --numkarts=1 --kart=xfcemouse #--check-debug --track-debug". The last two options are there but commented out, so it's easy for me to enable them if I want.

You might also need Artist Debug Mode enabled to be able to launch directly into a track.

For some reason, Supertuxkart can't find any place to put your kart. This might be because your driveline is incorrect, or because there's no ground below it for 50 meters.

From the screenshot in your first post, it seems that the two sides of your driveline aren't connected. The driveline should be shaped like a "ladder", with two edge loops connected by quads and only quads. If it's already like that, then try moving the driveline up by 0-1 meters (0-1 Blender Units).

It might also be helpful to download the Media Repository. It contains the source files for most of the tracks, so you can look at them and compare what's different from your track.

Yes, thanks Anon for your tips.

Yesterday, I was studing the track "math class" (or any name similar).

Today (now I am in the job ;) ) if I have a time, I will upload my blend file, because maybe it is more easy for to help me.

But, thanks.

Cool a new track maker :)

I have some tips for you. You should start by trying to modify existing tracks :). So slowly you can adapt to your own idea. I have done this 4 years ago when I started Hacienda, my first track. It was done by modifying progressively Bovine Barnyard
