I improved as I could. I gave a more bad expression, smoothed a bit and gave transparency.

Ugh that's not how you give something transparency...

Youv'e just selected the background and deleted it. However you can still see the 'edge' of the background (the white).

You need the original to make it transparent. Otherwise you'll have to use some niftier tricks to properly extract the background without the white edges.

Still looks broken to me, as if you edited the alpha channel instead of using masks or other more natural transparency tools. But I can easily add a more grim look later. Main difficulty for now is to make the contour of the horns/tail sharper without giving them a pixelish ugly look.

I am glad to see people are having fun to experiment.

EDIT: Just to be clear, the xcf I posted contains a few transparent layers and one white background layer I put there only for testing. So opacity really should not be an issue.

Sorry, i personnaly dislike the idea of devil tux, the quality is not bad but he looks very unfriendly (Hardcore/pro players are not like this )
After that, it is only my tastes
I would prefer something like a God/Zeus/Yoda/Panoramix tux

These tux come from -> http://tux.crystalxp.net/ but i don't think this is the right license.
I currently don't have time but i'm thinking of it.

Mhm, to avoid confusion with edits, I post this in another comment. The files are small, so i guess this is okay.
I Just added some angry-sleepy-funny eyelids inspired by tavariz91, but I am not sure if that is an improvement.

No for this picture.

If you want the rabbit to have white around his eyes, I think you need to make them huge cartoon eyes like on our kart icons; otherwise you small white you added won't be very much visible after the icon is scaled down in the menu unless someone plays with a huge resolution

Don't forget that Star Wars, The Lord of The Ring and Asterix have strong copyright holders, we can't use that...

I agree with not liking the idea of devil Tux (after all, that's Beastie's role ), I'm not sure how non-European people get the Panoramix reference...I was thinking generally we should avoid such cultural references, but then I recalled that Debian versions are named after characters of Toy Story, the Python language is named after Monty Python...maybe there are other references in free software...hum ^^.

I don't think the Grecian culture is copyrighted so i think Zeus tux could be great

New version for two icons: FTL was 1 pixel right and down (you can watch this by a quick comparison)

TTmode sky was not the same as for other pictures.
