Maybe a mixture of small sculptures on pedestals/boxes, and large ones on the floor.
I will put in some more work on antarctican gothic soon :)

Here's the miniaturized and active volcano.

I got the face-count down to ~200 from over 1600, and managed to fit everything in three textures (plus the start line texture, which I think is already in the art museum?). License info is included.

I don't really know if this counts as a sculpture. I suppose it's a model instead.

I can make it work as a model and not a sculpture. it's quite nice. though the road texture isn't in this track, i might change that one way or another.

That's cool.

Looking at it, though, it reminds me what a waste of a good idea that volcano track is.

I might try to remodel it or do a new one as a personal pet project. I could do with learning the basics in Blender.

I got some ideas for you if you do this(making a track like this is somewhere on my list of tracks to make)

The AI is really having hard times on this track – gaining an average of 5.5 seconds on them, as they go far to wide around the corners. A massiv slowdown on the grass outside could also help to reduce this a bit.

which AI level is it? expert should drive this a lot better than beginner.

the difficulty levels have another effect than just more top speed (highest there)? Or did I miss another switch?

Yes, there are some other factors, e.g. the default AI on hard will sharp-turn better.

But I can't guarantee that it makes a difference in this case, once I am done with my current AI work, I'll check the track. The new AI behaves a bit better than the current default one (hopefully less likely to crash into corners), and in the worst case we might need to adjust the drivelines a bit.

Cheers,
Joerg
