Okay.
Update: Now MySQL runs, but STKaddons doesn't want to connect.
However, I already did the main part of the german translation. I've got one big question left: In german, we have to words for the english "you": "Du" and "Sie", with "Du" being more informal and "Sie" being more polite.
Now it's the question which of these words to prefer. What do you think?

The German translation in STK is using 'Du" - which I think is just fine considering what kind of game STK is. But you might also consider just doing some smart rephrasing (e.g. using passive voice, ...):
"Willst Du den Spieler loeschen" --> "Soll der Spieler geloescht werden".
"... Du kannst auf das Symbol klicken" --> "Man kann auf das Symbol klicken"
etc. But I agree that this might sometimes sound awkward (or just be impossible). But reducing the number of instances in which you have to decide if you want to use "Du" or "Sie" is a good thing. And other people might come up with other ways of removing the remaining 'Du"/"Sie' sentences.
Hope that helps!
Joerg

I already did so, but there are places where that just sounds weird. If STK uses "du", then I'll also use it.
Maybe I'll get enough time later today to finish the translation; else I'll do it during this week. How can I send you it then, Stephen?

I guess just attaching the .po (and .mo?) files to the forum would work.
Thanks!

Okay, I'll do so.
You recently updated the translations.pot, so I have to see how I can convince my program to include the changes to my already-translated file without having to copy everything...

In poedit you can just use the
Catalog > Update from pot file
menu item

Well, PoEdit wasn't available in my repos, so I tried another program. Probably it's better to switch now though ...
I don't think I'll get the translation ready until Saturday or Sunday. Expect it then, Stephen.

Addons are only checked every two days by the game, so I guess you'll just have to wait a couple days to see the new icon.

According to
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/sole , "sole" means
–adjective
1. being the only one; only:
So I don't see why we should change it.
I agree about "license.txt" Vs "License.txt", and also I agree it's a good idea to write "Required" next to required fields. we could ask Stephen if he doesn't come here
and your comment shows that indeed there may be a need for an "update exisiting add-on" feature. Stephen, what do you think about this?
And regarding making you an admin, I'm sorry but I'm not sure; admins need to be people with good understanding of licenses, I'm not sure you do?

I've made the changes regarding the upload form and the License.txt verification. A download counter is in progress - that could take some time. Foolish me didn't think about that, and so I need to do some restructuring to make it simpler to implement.

Finally - there it is
- de_DE.po
- German translation of STKaddons
- (21.83 KiB) Downloaded 256 times
Regarding the license.txt/License.txt problem, it looks as if you renamed everywhere the needed file's name to License.txt but forgot about that in the agreement.

Also see

Usually, on Launchpad, "needs review" means a translation was submitted on a non-authorized user, and it's waiting for an authorized user. Usually you solve this by registering to the launchpad translators group (and/or adjusting the project's authorisations settings)

STKRudy85:
Probably because you didn't specify the licenses correctly. Re-read the terms of usage, please.
You have to include a license.txt file which specifies all authors and the licenses under which that certain path is released. Maybe you forgot something there?

Licences are point to valid uploading so I won't check for something wrong which doesn't exist.

Rudy, I looked at some of the license files for the unapproved addons. In general, they are not specific enough.
For example, with the Big Buck Bunny kart, you would have to provide specific attribution to the Blender Foundation for the original model of the character, as it was licensed under CC-BY 3.0. As well, you would have to note which textures came from the Big Buck Bunny project, which came from you, and which came from the original kart modeler, as well as the specific license for each. Once all of that information has been compiled, then the License.txt file included will be considered valid, and the kart will be approved.
