This should be fixed now. The irrelevant check-boxes should become deactivated when you choose to upload an image, to prevent confusion.

Also, a kart/track.xml file is no longer necessary for source packages.

How to write news for STKAddons ?

The work you did stephen is really appreciated.

I have a point to improve it, again : If someone submit a contrib, can the question be asked :

"Do you want to upload the blender source ?"

then redirect contributor to the page planned for that purpose

I'm sorry, I don't have the time to personally contact each person that does not upload sources.

however, maybe we can ask Stephen to modify the website so that the website strongly suggest to upload sources

I'm thinking a highlighted message that says: "It is strongly recommended that you upload the source files for your add-on below" that would show up at the top of the add-on you uploaded if there is no source files attached. Would this be sufficient, or any other suggestions?

This is good, but in addition to that, what about :

after you successfully upload an add-on, you get a page saying :

Your add-on was uploaded successfully. It will be reviewed by our moderators before being publicly available.

Click here to upload the sources to your add-on now
(uploading the sources enables others to improve your work and also ensure your add-on will not be lost in the future if new SuperTuxKart versions are not compatible with the current format)

Click here to return to the list

I've added text similar to this to the upload confirmation screen. I'm still thinking of how to add a nagging message to the add-on's listing, but without it being too annoying (i.e. dismiss-able).

A suggestion of a very little improvement : when we click on Images of the add-ons frame, a new tab could be opened instead of exiting the current page (target _blank).
Ideally this could be a little js diaporama, but I'm not sure it's worth taking some time for that ^^

Open links in tab (where supported): http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/WD-css3-hyper ... target-new

Re: the above two posts
I put in both of the above: target="_blank" and target-new: tab
I assume they work together?

JS popup might come later but that will take more time.

I think the target="_blank" is enough. The target-new: tab is not very useful to my opinion : css3 is only compatible with new browsers, and new browsers always open in new tabs... but this is another debate, and not very important ^^

Thank you for modifying the site so fast !

May I ask you to make the text :
{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
Click here to upload the sources to your add-on now

Bigger ?

Another suggestion, about news can you add:

The most recent track uploaded
The most recent kart uploaded
The best noted kart
The best noted track

There seems to be agreement that a download counter should not really be shown to users to influence downloading, because download counts do not relate to an add-on's quality. However, you can see download counts at http://stkaddons.net/reports/files.php

Here's some news for anyone who may be interested:
Over the next few days you may start noticing that individual addons are being indexed by search engines (e.g. Google). This is because the addons website can now be viewed without JavaScript. You shouldn't notice a difference from these changes, except that in modern browsers, when you are navigating addons, the address in the address bar will change to the permalink url for that addon (where it didn't previously). This means that individual addons are now added to your browser history. (Note that the back button still doesn't work properly on addon pages)

Keep an eye out for your add-ons on Google ;)
