New idea about skidding

This is not the first time we discuss about skidding for example we discuss this there: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4001&hilit=wishlist but here is a new idea:

The idea came when hiker said we could have possibly bikes in the future.

The idea: The motorbikes with MK double dash skidding :!: :cool:

Bike Gameplay:
-> Skidding: Mk double dash. Explanation for people who don't know it: it gives you mini-turbo, you don't have to wait to have yellow sparkles like the current skidding but you have to turn the wheel in the opposite direction twice to have the green sparkles. Wainting for green sparkles is useless.

-> The motorbikes can't use and collect nitro but the nitro key is used to make a wheelie (You can hardly turn during a wheelie, the wheelie make you accelerate but less than nitro).

Kart Gameplay:
-> Skidding: Choice between "Simple" skidding (current skidding) and "Advanced" skidding (CTR skidding)
-> Nitro: no change

I will try to anticipate questions
What does that change for the player?
-(I hope) In the future the player will have to choose the character, then a kart or a bike:
If he chose the kart: he has to make a choice between "Simple" skidding (current skidding) and "Advanced" skidding (CTR skidding) (or only the current skidding ?)
If he chose a bike: there is no simple/advance skidding (because this choice will be ingame while playing: for people who will achieve the right method, that will be an advanced skidding :D, that way to skid is really rewarding for people who played Mk double dash)
-This reconciles the players who love the nitro with players who do not like it (like Charlie :p)

A new skidding is weird and will make the game too complicated ? There are too many skidding ?
-The new skidding (double dash) is justified by the way that the motorbike and the kart have a different gameplay.
-Then CTR and current skidding are just two different degree of the same skidding (easy and hard).
-> This is like there are only 2 different skidding so two different gameplay (one for kart and one for bike).
It bring more variety in the game and of cource more fun :heart: .

What do you think of this idea ?

i think use CTR skidding method in STK is interesting, because that seem realistic when racing ;)

Yes :) what about bikes?. I've just think bikes could also use nitro: this nitro make your bike do a wheelie, you accelerate but you can't turn at all.

Or you can turn but only with small angles, just like the bike in Crash Bandicoot 3, in the levels where you control one.
Depending on the circuit that can be interesting or not.
Overall the ideas seem interesting :)
But we need people to model bikes...(would be great to keep the existing characters with them).

The biggest problems with your idea are that :
1) we have no one to model bike characters
2) making good bike physics is enormous work, anything affecting physics is enormous work

due to the work needed and the lack of people to tackle this work, I don't think this idea is realistic

I know about people (sniff :cry: ) but i hope in a near (or far ? ) future more artists will be able to help about new stuff
But i'm confident about the future of STK ;)
